Dave Sojourner is Shareholder at Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims PA and a member of the Trusts and Estates Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on helping people address complex personal and professional tax planning issues and establishing effective, practical estate and business succession plans. Dave is both a Certified Taxation Specialist and a Certified Estate Planning and Probate Specialist.
Active in the community, Dave is the immediate past chair of the Community Foundation's board of trustees and he currently serves on the Heathwood Hall Episcopal School board of trustees. He is the former Senior Warden of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and formerly served on the Nature Conservancy, South Carolina Chapter board of trustees. He has served as chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Specialization advisory board, the South Carolina Bar Tax Section and the South Carolina Supreme Court’s Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization.
Dave received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Clemson University and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He also received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
