John Baker

John Baker is a Managing Member of Baker & Baker Real Estate. The firm was founded by John’s father David and David’s cousin, Lee Baker, in 1948. Today, John and Lee Baker’s son-in-law, Steven Anastasion, manage the business.

Activity in the community, John serves as Chair and coordinator of the local Israel Bonds campaign, Co-Chair of AIPAC and Co-Chair of JNF. He also serves on the Richland County Public Library and Foundation boards as well as the Katie and Irwin Kahn Columbia Jewish Community Center. In addition to these efforts John has worked with the March of Dimes, the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Midlands and the American Heart Association.

John received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of South Carolina. He has received the Honor of the Palmetto from Gov. Jim Hodges, the Elaine Whitelaw award from the March of Dimes and the State of Israel’s Ben Gurion award.

John and his wife, Marcie, live in Columbia and have one daughter who attends George Washington University.
