John Lumpkin is Senior Executive Advisor at Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN, a national, fully integrated healthcare facilities company. He previously served as interim Executive Director of Innovista, the University of South Carolina research campus initiative. Prior to this, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Edens & Avant Real Estate Services.
John is very involved in the business community and the economic development of Columbia. He is chair of the Midlands Business Leadership Group and serves on the boards of the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness, Engenuity SC, the Central Carolina River Alliance and Columbia College. He is a past member of the South Carolina State Development Board and past chair of Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. He also spearheaded the organization of the Central SC Alliance and the Central Carolina River Alliance.
John earned his Bachelor of Arts from Princeton and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is also a graduate of Leadership Columbia.
