Foundation Grants

Central Carolina Community Foundation has shifted its grantmaking focus for our Impact Grants to target strategic areas of need in our community. The overriding goal is to make targeted grants that will have a measurable, positive impact on issues that affect our citizens.

Through our competitive Impact Grant process the Foundation will support creative and innovative programs in the following strategic areas:

  • Dropout Prevention - Projects and initiatives that target students at risk of dropping out of school and demonstrate the potential to be developed into effective, sustainable and coordinated dropout prevention and re-entry programs in middle schools and high schools.
  • Homelessness Prevention - Projects that coordinate efforts to prevent homelessness; provide outreach to those who become homeless to direct them to services, provide emergency sheltering; ensure the availability of supportive service to address health, education employment and family needs; and make permanent housing available.
  • Literacy - Projects that lead to proficiency in reading and writing as well as the application of these skills within a variety of disciplines or contexts (workplace, family, health, finance, technology, etc.)

We will continue to provide capacity-building grants for nonprofit organizations that are service providers in our strategic focus areas.
