Central Carolina Community Foundation awards competitive grants primarily to nonprofit organizations that are defined as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. These grants are available to organizations serving the following counties: Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda and Sumter. Both the Community and Organizational Impact grants fund programs in our three strategic focus areas: Dropout Prevention, Homelessness Prevention and Literacy. Community Impact grants fund programmatic initiatives of nonprofit organizations. Organizational Impact grants assist local nonprofits by addressing their need for increased management capacity in order to sustain long-term success and growth.

Due to the recent change in our grantmaking efforts, Central Carolina Community Foundation will temporarily suspend our Impact Grant program. We will use this time to research our funding priorities to ensure we fully understand the issues and then develop a strategic approach to ensure we are making targeted grants that will have a measurable, positive impact on issues that affect our citizens. Central Carolina Community Foundation remains committed to continuing its efforts to help increase the rate of literacy, decrease the dropout rate and prevent homelessness. To that end, the Foundation looks forward to resuming grantmaking activities at an appropriate time in the future.
