Benefits for the Client/Donor
Convenient Local Services Your client (we call them donors) may choose from a variety of charitable giving approaches, selecting the methods that best suit their financial plan. Once a fund is established, the donor will have access to information about their fund by contacting the Foundation. Expert Community Foundation Staff will work hard to connect donors with the issues they care about.
Experienced Staff You and your clients can depend on expert Community Foundation staff for assistance in establishing a fund, selecting an investment strategy and setting up an effective grantmaking program. More than 275 individuals, corporations, nonprofit agencies and organizations have selected the Community Foundation because of our knowledge of local needs and our extensive experience in local problem solving. As a staff, we will ensure that their objectives are met.
Gifts in Perpetuity The Community Foundation is governed by a dedicated volunteer Board of Trustees. These civic leaders represent a diverse cross-section of the community. Donors can be confident that their charitable gifts will be managed properly and will continue to fulfill the purpose they were originally created for, whether focusing on the environment, the arts, or youth, generation after generation. Using certain planned giving instruments, donors may even be able to create their own charitable legacy, while often providing needed income for themselves or another beneficiary.
Economies of Scale If each individual fund operated independently and had to recreate our services on its own, the price tag would be exorbitant. Each of our funds, however, shares the costs of an outstanding staff and excellent investment advisors who care about your client's needs. Thus, the Community Foundation is able to serve clients who want to be philanthropists, no matter what their wealth. This cost-sharing is a benefit over the expense incurred from establishing a private foundation.
