Your Gift, Your Connection

At Central Carolina Community Foundation, we strive to connect donors with worthwhile causes throughout our community.  It is this effort that inspired us to create the Your Gift, Your Connection Initiative.  The goal of this initiative is to find creative ways to expand the impact of our discretionary grantmaking dollars.  We are doing so in a couple of ways.  First, staff recommends grants to other key funding partners in the community.  Secondly, the Distribution Committee selects several worthwhile grants the Foundation is unable to fund and the Foundation recommends these grants to donors. 

Through our discretionary grantmaking monies, we are able to issue many worthwhile grants during our competitive grant cycles. However, there are just as many deserving grants we are unable to fund due to lack of resources.
Therefore, after each grantmaking cycle, the Distribution Committee will select several grant requests they believe supporters of the Community Foundation may be interested in funding.  We will present these proposals to our donors through a newsletter and post them online.  Donors can feel confident in these proposals, because Foundation staff will have conducted due diligence on these organizations and support their requests.
