Communities We Serve

Central Carolina Community Foundation awards grants primarily to nonprofit organizations that are defined as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Community Foundation offers many different types of grants to build and sustain the Midlands community, and we support a broad spectrum of needs in the community.

Our 11-county service area includes Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda and Sumter counties.  In addition, certain communities have created regional endowments to better focus on their local needs.  Browse through this section to learn more about these affiliate organizations.

Local Midlands organizations and individuals have established endowments to focus support on specific areas of interest, including the Columbia Jewish Foundation and the New Morning Foundation. Each of these supporting organizations operates with its own grantmaking criteria.

The New Morning Foundation is a supporting organization of Central Carolina Community Foundation that was established as a school/community health promotion and teen pregnancy prevention initiative for Richland County.  For additional information visit www.newmorningfoundation.org.

As a supporting organization of Central Carolina Community Foundation, Columbia Jewish Foundation funds are currently directed to the Columbia Jewish Federation.
