Sumter Community Foundation is a publicly supported endowment that allows neighbors, leaders, citizens, family and friends to provide for each other and our futures together as a community.  They receive gifts from donors to meet community needs within Sumter County by awarding grants to nonprofit organizations and charitable programs.  The volunteer Board of Advisors consists of community leaders and representatives who guide the endowment with administrative and management support services provided by Central Carolina Community Foundation (CCCF).

As an affiliate fund of CCCF, Sumter County enjoys the many benefits of a community foundation while avoiding the costs and administrative burdens of a separate foundation. This gives our grantmaking dollars maximum impact and local focus.

Sumter and its citizens will reap great benefits from the legacies that we create in our community today through the Foundation. The endowment is used in many ways, supporting programs in education, human services, the arts, and health care, just to name a few.  At this time, Sumter Community Foundation has ceased awarding grants to allow the fund to grow.
