21 Nonprofits Receive More Than $23K in Grants from Greater Chapin Community Foundation

Greater Chapin Community Foundation (GCCF) awarded a record-breaking $23,906 in grants to 21 local nonprofit organizations during its latest grant cycle. The grant awards recognize local nonprofit organizations in the Greater Chapin area that provide for the basic needs of our local citizens, develop tomorrow’s leaders, preserve our community history, and enhance public good through the arts.

The record-breaking $23,906 awarded consisted of $18,000 of direct grant contributions awarded from Greater Chapin Community Foundation as well as matching funds from GCCF to amplify dollars raised by local nonprofits during the annual Midlands Gives day of giving, coordinated by Central Carolina Community Foundation.

The following nonprofit organizations received direct grant contributions from GCCF:
Crooked Creek Art League
Troop Appreciate Fishing Fund Foundation
Lake Murray Power Squadron
Chapin Beautification Foundation
Chapin Community Theatre
Chapin American Legion Post 193
Multiplying Good
Boys Farm Inc
The Good Samaritan Clinic
LIFEBRIDGE of SC
Good Works
American Legion Chapin Unit 193

Additionally, 13 nonprofit organizations in the Greater Chapin area received Midlands Gives matching gift funds from GCCF. Midlands Gives is an annual online giving challenge that brings the region together as one community, raising money and awareness for local nonprofits. Our local nonprofits had a record-breaking year raising over $46,700 via 419 gifts! Greater Chapin Community Foundation provided over $5,900 in matching funds, bringing the total raised for our local nonprofits to $52,600. Thank you, Greater Chapin philanthropists, for your generosity!

GCCF is an endowment publicly funded by and for the people living in Chapin, Ballentine, White Rock, Peak and Prosperity as well as other nearby communities. Greater Chapin Community Foundation’s goal is to grow philanthropy in the Greater Chapin area. Currently, GCCF has an endowment of more than $500,000 of invested funds and has awarded over $151,000 to 33 local nonprofit organizations since 2003.

Greater Chapin Community Foundation encourages donations to enhance and grow the endowment so the fund can support an increasing number of Greater Chapin organizations. Each year, GCCF donates all proceeds generated from the endowment fund to local nonprofit organizations. You can make a secure gift online or contact one of the board members to discuss other methods of philanthropy.
