$26,000 Awarded in Fundraising School Grants

Congratulations to the 2023 Fundraising School grant recipients! The following ten organizations received $26,000 in funding to participate in Fundraising School, a 6-week immersive, virtual course with fundraising professionals Rachel Ramjattan, CFRE and Janet Cobb, CFRE. In the program’s second year, this capacity-building program is designed to help nonprofit leaders reduce their fears of fundraising, increase board engagement in fundraising, and improve their fundraising vision, strategies and systems.

This year’s Fundraising School grantees are:

  • Girl Get Up Society
  • Montessori School of Camden (MSC)
  • National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Columbia (SC) Chapter
  • Newberry County Literacy
  • RBA Corporation
  • Take Flight Project
  • The Advocacy Center
  • The Medasic Foundation
  • The Samaritan House of Orangeburg

Of the awarded grantees, 50% are outside Richland County and 70% are BIPOC-led organizations. This grant provides awarded organizations with the tools necessary to create organizational technology, communication and fundraising plans through lessons, assignments, and fundraiser coaches. Past Fundraising School participants increased donor retention and raised and average of $10,000 after completing the program.
