$4.5 Million Distributed by the One SC Fund for COVID-19 Response

The One SC Fund: COVID-19 Response, housed at Central Carolina Community Foundation, awarded more than $4.5 million during the fund’s activation for COVID-19 assistance. The grants were awarded through a targeted approach to support South Carolina’s most vulnerable communities and aided South Carolinians with food assistance, sheltering, education support for children, rent/utility assistance and personal protective equipment.

“The One SC Fund’s grants provided relief to all 46 counties in South Carolina,” says JoAnn Turnquist, president and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation. “The funds were awarded to nonprofits best positioned to provide support to their communities.”

Since activation in March 2020, The One SC Fund: COVID-19 Response awarded a total of $4,559,939 to 115 nonprofits serving all 46 counties in South Carolina. These grants provided essential goods and services to more than 850,000 South Carolinians throughout the pandemic. More than 600,000 people — 78% of people served — received food assistance through the relief grants.
