Central Carolina Community Foundation, the Midlands' expert on philanthropy, is a nonprofit organization that links charitable people and businesses with areas of need in our community.
Who We Are
We were founded in September 1984 by business leaders who wanted to establish a permanent endowment that would enhance the lives of citizens in the Midlands. In the past five years, the Community Foundation and our donors together awarded over $63 million in grants to nonprofit organizations. 97% of these grants was directed to organizations within our direct service area.
What We Do
We are your vehicle for philanthropy. The Foundation receives gifts and bequests from individuals, families, businesses and organizations. The money is pooled and invested for maximum growth and impact. Then, donors direct the income generated by philanthropic endowments to award grants that support charitable organizations in our community.
Our donors are often looking to give back to the community but don’t have time to research and vet every organization. We work with investors to ensure that their dollars support causes they believe in and go to legitimate organizations.
Our mission is to promote, facilitate, and increase philanthropy to create a sustainable impact within our community through responsible giving.
To fulfill our mission, we:
- Encourage donors to make effective charitable giving decisions.
- Collaborate to develop creative solutions for community needs.
- Nurture and strengthen community organizations.
- Build a substantial endowment to provide for community needs for generations to come.
