Behind every grant awarded, scholarship received, and community initiative is a story of people coming together to make a difference.
Central Carolina Community Foundation's 2025-2026 Annual Report highlights what generosity, partnership, and a shared commitment to our community made possible this year.
Together with donors, nonprofit partners, and community leaders, the Foundation celebrated remarkable milestones, including:
A record $29.87 million in grants awarded, supporting nonprofits and communities across the Midlands and beyond.
More than $857,700 in scholarships awarded to 208 students pursuing their educational goals.
Over $4.95 million raised through Midlands Gives Day 2026.
During a particularly challenging time for nonprofits and the people they serve, the Foundation has made more grants over the past two years than ever before. But the numbers only tell part of the story. Throughout the report are stories of people whose generosity is opening doors for students, strengthening nonprofits, and creating opportunities for others.
That generosity came alive across our community - from a record-breaking Midlands Gives Day, to an emergency response to the food crisis, and continued long-term recovery from Hurricane Helene through the One SC Fund.
This was also the first year of the Foundation’s new Community Leadership strategy, an intentional commitment to use more than dollars to strengthen the places we serve. Thousands of people shared their experiences through our largest community listening effort to date. Arts and culture organizations gathered to imagine possibilities together. Fundholders connected community data and experiences to their own giving. And a conversation about preserving historic Black schools grew into a statewide network.
Our connections extended beyond South Carolina, too. Support we secured from Google.org powered an Al capacity building cohort for nonprofits, while a national Trust for Civic Life grant is bringing new investment to our work alongside rural communities.
As the Foundation reflects on more than 40 years of connecting people and resources, we are reminded that our greatest strength is the community of people who make this work possible.
