Cultivating Philanthropy: Interns Share Their Experience Working in the Field of Philanthropy

Thanks to the generosity of CCCF donors, we hire talented interns who amplify the daily work of the Foundation, and, in turn, we provide them with experiences that instill in them the importance of philanthropy. The current team of interns is innovative, hardworking, team-oriented and dedicated. Through the internship program, CCCF increases the talent pool of diverse leaders in the philanthropic sector by offering interns valuable experiences, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Donors make this program possible, and we’re grateful to them. Recently, our interns shared a bit about their experience working with the CCCF team. Here’s what they shared:

Maya Morris, Philanthropy Intern

Not only is the work I do at CCCF meaningful, but I find that I am also always being challenged in a way that expands my professional development. Because of the unconditional support at CCCF, I leave everyday feeling more empowered and confident in my ability to fulfill my job duties and adequately show up for my community.

Josie Phillips, Brand Journalist Intern

Even though I have only been interning at CCCF since August, I have already learned so much. My favorite part about my internship is being part of such a welcoming staff that wants you to succeed and learn. Getting to work for an organization with such a fulfilling mission and having the full support of the staff around me has helped me grow and learn throughout this internship.

Madison Sanchez-Torres, Advancement Intern

Working at CCCF has given me the opportunity to be surrounded by driven and successful people who genuinely want to help me succeed. I have been fortunate to learn many real-world skills that will contribute to my future success such as the importance of relationship building and collaborative teamwork.

Tabitha Simonson, Scholarship Intern

I like working at CCCF because the staff members truly value bettering the community and improving the lives of people throughout the Midlands of South Carolina. Through my internship, I have learned how to make an impact on my community and how to succeed in a competitive environment.
