The Franklin Hines Scholarship Fund at Central Carolina Community Foundation was established by Mr. Hines in 2019. The fund provides annual scholarships to African American and Hispanic seniors from one of the following high schools: Hartsville High School, Darlington High School, Lamar High School or McBee High School. Preference is given to students from Hartsville — the primary service area of the Hines Funeral Home.
