The Nina Liu Fund for the South Carolina Arts Commission State Art Collection was established in 2019 through a generous donation by anonymous donors. It is the South Carolina Arts Foundation‘s first endowment.
Through her gallery, Nina Liu and Friends in Charleston, SC, and her personal collecting and philanthropy, was a leader in the growth of South Carolina’s visual arts community in decades spanning the close of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries. In 2011, the South Carolina Arts Commission recognized Liu’s contributions to the arts by presenting her with the Elizabeth O’Neil Verner Governor’s Awards for the Arts, the State’s highest award in the arts.
The purpose of the fund is to support the acquisitions of art and/or provide for the maintenance, conservation, and storage of the collection. The fund’s assets are managed by Central Carolina Community Foundation.
Gifts in honor or memory of artists, educators or a cherished family member or friend are always welcome.
