Midlands Gives Day Registration Now Open

Nonprofit registration is now open for Midlands Gives Day, the annual 18-hour online giving challenge and online giving platform hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation. This year’s Midlands Gives Day will be on May 3, 2022. Nonprofits can register through January 7, 2022, at www.MidlandsGives.org.

In its ninth year, Midlands Gives Day will not only grow nonprofit capacity of organizations in the Midlands but also serve as a celebration of everyday philanthropy, with prizes, matching funds and more. Since 2019, the Midlands Gives website has served as a year-round online giving platform connecting nonprofits with donors.

“Local nonprofits are vital to the prosperity of our region,” says JoAnn Turnquist, president and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation. “When we invest in these organizations, we are investing in our community. The Midlands Gives platform includes profiles of more than 480 organizations — an outstanding vehicle for nonprofit organizations to showcase their impact and tremendous educational resource for community members wishing to invest.”

Midlands Gives Day brings the region together as one community, raising money and awareness for local nonprofits to amplify their impact, administer vital public services and boost the quality of life in the Midlands. Since its inception in 2014, Midlands Gives has raised more than $15.9 million for hundreds of local nonprofits. In 2021, Midlands Gives Day raised over $3.34 million via 21,080 individual gifts.

Nonprofits That Register by Tuesday, Nov. 16 Receive Early Bird Club Benefits

Nonprofits that register by Tuesday, Nov. 16, will be considered part of the “Early Bird Club” and will be eligible for benefits, including the following:

  • Ability to accept donations through the Midlands Gives platform on Giving Tuesday.
  • Eligibility to participate in Giving Tuesday matching incentive opportunity.
  • Priority consideration for interview opportunities.
  • Additional live training opportunities with nonprofit professionals to further support fundraising efforts and donor engagement.

As part of Midlands Gives participation, nonprofits receive access to hundreds of dollars’ worth of capacity building trainings, support from fundraising professionals and online resources to help strengthen their fundraising and marketing strategies for only a $10 technology administration fee. As always, 100% of each donor contribution goes to the donor’s selected nonprofit, after a 2.2% credit card fee and 2.8% technology fee from Neon One, the platform provider.

Registration for returning nonprofits is as easy as logging into their existing profile, updating their information and signing a participation agreement. No training is required.

Nonprofits that are new to Midlands Gives must fill out the online application and attend one mandatory Midlands Gives 101 training session via webinar or recording, which will provide participants the tools and resources to meet their giving day goals.

Approved nonprofit profiles will remain active on the website and eligible to receive donations until the following year’s registration deadline.
