Nonprofit Registration Now Open for Midlands Gives
December 8, 2022
Tenth annual online day of giving supporting nonprofits will take place Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
Nonprofit registration is now open for Midlands Gives, the annual 18-hour online giving challenge and online giving platform hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation. This year’s Midlands Gives Day will be on May 2, 2023. Nonprofits can register through February 28, 2023, at www.MidlandsGives.org.
In its tenth year, Midlands Gives Day will serve as a celebration of everyday philanthropy filled with prizes, matching funds and more. The annual event brings the Midlands together to raise money and awareness for local nonprofits to amplify their impact, provide vital public services and improve the quality of life in the community.
“Midlands Gives allows individuals to invest directly in our community by supporting the nonprofits that are essential to the success of our region,” says JoAnn Turnquist, president and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation. “The Midlands Gives platform is a tremendous vehicle for nonprofit organizations, empowering them to showcase their impact and build capacity.”
Since 2019, the Midlands Gives website has served as a year-round online platform connecting nonprofits with donors. Midlands Gives Day brings the region together as one community, raising money and awareness for local nonprofits to amplify their impact, administer vital public services and boost the quality of life in the Midlands. Since its inception in 2014, Midlands Gives has raised more than $19.7 million for hundreds of local nonprofits. In 2022, Midlands Gives Day raised over $3.73 million for 540 nonprofits.
Updated Registration Process for Midlands Gives Platform
Registration for returning nonprofits is as easy as logging into their existing profile, updating their information and signing a participation agreement.
Nonprofits that are new to Midlands Gives must submit the online application by February 28 to participate in Midlands Gives Day 2023.
Approved nonprofit profiles will remain active on the website and eligible to receive donations until the following year’s registration deadline.
As part of Midlands Gives participation, nonprofits receive access to hundreds of dollars’ worth of capacity-building trainings, support from fundraising professionals and online resources to help strengthen their fundraising and marketing strategies for only a $10 technology administration fee. As always, 100% of each donor contribution goes to the donor’s selected nonprofit, after a 2.2% credit card fee and 2.8% technology fee from Neon One, the platform provider. Donors have the option to cover the combined 5% fee at checkout. In 2022, 76% of donations had their fees covered by donors at checkout.
