Quarterly Message from CCCF Leadership

Community Foundations must adhere to a sense of community that overrides individual interests and concerns. To do this, Central Carolina Community Foundation leverages the collective knowledge, creativity and resources within our community and, through collaboration, increases the impact of philanthropy for everyone.

Anchored by our deep roots in the Midlands of South Carolina and our commitment to harness the collective resources of our region to build a livable, vibrant, and equitable community, we employ our experience, regional knowledge and established networks to make nimble and responsive discretionary grants. During the past 18 months, strong relationships with our fundholders and partnerships with other funders uniquely positioned us to engage a coalition of givers to bridge gaps and address emergency needs.

Our organization is led by our Board of Trustees, 28 forward-thinking, insightful individuals who care deeply about our community. They have been instrumental in enlisting individuals and organizations across our region in addressing needs and increasing resilience. We are grateful for their leadership and counsel and proud to feature our newest members in this newsletter.

Our work is inspired by our fundholders – generous and caring individuals, families, and businesses who believe in our mission and have joined us to harness the power of philanthropy – power that can effect change and inspire hope. We’re proud to share stories of several inspiring fundholders in this edition of Talk About Giving.

During this time of uncertainty, we are reminded again and again that our best way forward is to rely on each other for mutual support and collective action, guided by leaders who are called to serve.  By making smart investments in each other, seeing what’s possible, engaging everyone and demanding more from ourselves, we will harness the magic of collaborative philanthropy and continue to improve the lives of people in our region.

With gratitude,
